How Can severe Osteoporosis Be Treated?

Thank you. My primary doctor wanted me to take calcium because I have osteoporosis. However, my recent lab test indicated that everything was normal, including calcium levels, except I needed to add another 400 units of D3 which I have done. My blood pressure was 173/82 on March 6 at the doctor s office and 183/__? today in the doctor s office. I had taken a calcium capsule around 12 noon or 12:30 and the BP was taken around 3 pm; but when I got home I took my BP with my digital monitor and it was 124/88 and pulse 52. I have been on blood pressure meds for many years but a heart doctor took me off of Multi-vitamins and calcium because he said it caused more PVCs. I have a pacemaker and my new heart doctor reduced Losarton from 50 mg to 25 and I was doing fine until March 6th. It seems to me that the calcium might be causing a problem with BP - May I have your thoughts and opinion? Joan

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. If symptoms are severe and knees and hip are involved, surgical correction might be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
